the only thing ive got to do it make the blue fabric into a ribbon. If i can im going to try and get the bigger collar thing looking correct (mum keeps telling me not to worry about it, but i think its important) and i have to dye my hair darker.
and i know that my skirt has red in it... but i dont care it was the absolute closest i could get it.
Question, do you, as an audience to this cosplay, think that getting the collar right is important for this cosplay to be effective?
Mkay, when I saw this request I was like "what the?" But then I read the desciption and was like "OH! Its a Cosplay Costume set up in progress lol".
Well lets see here, Lets see, we've got the entire uniform in check - Plaid skirt, shoes and socks, and not to mention bracelets to match. I just need to see a pic of yourself with the hairstyle and matching bands for the hair, and then you SHOULD be set. Unless if theres something else that we're forgetting here >_>'...
Vision: The pic is obvious on what you're trying to do: a cosplay of Xiao. Duh lol. Originality: Because there are many cosplays of Xiao, I cant say too much on originality. Love the concept. Technique: no comment. Except for the fact that the change of the collar, I dunno... Impact: Everything is on point with the materials. Now we just need to see the results of it all.
Hmm I think you should get a bigger collar then u will be ok And I think the accessories and clothing are great! Also you should dye your hair black ! ^^ Then u will be right on point Xiaoyu is great to cosplay but sometimes when people cosplay her orange qipao its kinda hard , I wish you good luck on this cosplay! I think the bracelts are going to be hard to find because they glowhehe oooh i was wondering why didnt you cosplay her new school outfit in Tekken Blood Vengeance , But dont you think that would have been harder.
WOW amazing but I need more time to think how to gather all those items to cosplay her as well and love your description on making your ling xiaoyu's attire.
Yes I think making the collar in the right way it's very important, because it is very peculiar, you could find a similar fabric, unsew the original collar of the shirt and then sew the new one , is not so difficult. I really like the fabric you chose for the ribbon, looks of the exact colour! The skirt should have more pleats though
my mum made the skirt for me, and she hasnt sewn in years (used to make almost all her own clothes)... and has never worked with tartan or pleats, so she wanted to keep it as easy as possible, so we chose this pattern, as opposed to a more difficult, but acurate one. we already had a lot of trouble with it getting the sizing right.... i think if i had asked her to make more pleats i would have been murdered by now haha
anyway, in almost every single offical image, the skirt changes in make and colour slightly....
Difficulty doesn't change if you make more pleats, you just need a bit more time Actually sewing a pleated skirt is easy, you can also find some tutorial online like this one [link] (it could be useful if you have to make more skirts like this ^^) The skirt changes in the images but it might help you the fact that is a classical pleated skirt of japanese school uniforms, it hasn't got particular pleats or something, so just take those skirts as references
